Yesterday the FCA published a really interesting research paper which could potentially help firms measure their culture. This has always been seen as something that’s difficult to measure objectively.
There’s no doubt that culture and values are becoming increasingly important, and companies without a genuinely caring culture are finding it harder to compete, so a means of measuring it could be invaluable. We strongly believe it’s possible to be commercially successful while also cultivating a company culture that supports doing the right thing for our customers and our people.
We’re absolutely committed to this through our Great Place to Work survey which measures our Trust Index, and the extent to which our people agree “this is a great place to work” and “we’re all in this together”. The positive feedback we get from customers on Trustpilot is also a way of measuring the strength of our culture.
The full FCA article is definitely worth a read.
Corporate culture is critical for corporate success and corporate responsibility, yet it is widely seen as impossible to measure objectively. Researchers at the London School of Economics have developed a method that could put corporate culture under the same empirical scrutiny as profit and loss.
